This year has been challenging–in more ways than one. Moving was a new experience for me: researching places to live, setting up utilities, figuring out how to transport furniture when only one of you (aka: my boyfriend) can lift anything heavy. My last move involved bringing minimal things with me to a different state where an apartment was already waiting for me. This felt much more hands-on and intense. And, no matter how wonderful our apartment complex is, we did realize our new neighbors are far from friendly, but hey–that’s life.
There have been so many changes at work, some good and some bad. But, no matter what has happened, I have learned to roll with the punches and accept what cannot be changed. It’s also put some things into perspective and given me the initiative to pursue further opportunities (or at least create a plan for those future opportunities!).
Financially, things have been difficult. Life throws curveballs at you every chance it gets, none of which you can prepare for. Personally, I feel like I have grown as an individual. I know who I am and who I want to be. My relationships are stronger, my friendships are deeper, and I appreciate my family more than ever.
Don’t forget to be grateful and give thanks for the people and things in your life that mean the most to you.
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
